Aliaksandar Lukashenka threatened the US Ambassador with deportation in case the USA strengthens the sanctions imposed against Belarus.
“As soon as sanctions that would affect our economy are imposed, our reaction will be extremely rough in all directions: politics, economy, other spheres. The first to be thrown out will be the ambassador of the United States,” Lukashenka told journalists on Sunday.
Lukashenka remarked: “What have we done to the Americans that they impose sanctions?” “I want to warn the Americans once again: our reaction to these sanctions will be very rough, they will lose their positions not only in Belarus,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
According to him, the country will survive without the US dollar. “If the Americans dislike us, we shall leave dollar for euro. They will not humiliate and slander us in the entire world any more,” Lukashenka stressed.
He said: “They (the USA) disapprove of our cooperation with Venezuela. So why don’t they let us work in the USA? We work where we are welcome,” the head of state remarked.
According to Lukashenka, the Belarusian part “has repeatedly suggested cooperation. They don’t want to cooperate. They want to suppress and smash our country and our people with a jackboot. But they won’t succeed.”
At the same time Lukashenka urged the US Ambassador to Belarus “to mind her own business, otherwise she can leave her post before the term ends.”
