Inflation rate growth and energy price increase make Belarus face problems and stress the need of structural market reforms.
Annual Transition report 2007 of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development says it.
EBRD experts point out the Belarusian government should improve the efficiency of using energy in industry, housing and public utilities and infrastructure; favour competitive recovery and efficiency of industry, distribution and services.
It is also mentioned that investments and competition support, as well as decrease of administrative interference with sectors of high competition potential is needed.
The EBRD experts note that Belarus has more than modest progress in market-oriented reforms in all directions compared with most of the countries the EBRD works in.
