Statement of BSDP (Hramada): “Regime overstated total per cent of voters’ turnout”

The Belarusian Social Democratic party (Hramada) has adopted a statement on “parliamentary election” in Belarus. Violations of the law faced by activists of the party during the election are documented in the statement.
The activists of the party note that the regime hasn’t changed its approach to the conceptual part of the electoral process. The registered candidates for deputies met different obstacles when carrying out campaign and organising meetings with voters. District and precinct election commissions were formed by the regime according to corporative principle and administrative subordination. The per cent of participation of the BSDP and other oppositional parties’ representatives in district commission is even lower. That is why the “election” was not transparent.
There was no control at all over the vote count. Figures of those who took part in the early vote are unjustifiably high. Under the conditions of absence of control over the actions of precinct commissions work undoubtedly resulted in election rigging. Monitoring and questioning of voters after the “election” show that the regime has overstated the total voters’ turnout again.
