Delegation of Belarus-EU Council of Business Cooperation in Minsk

The delegation of the Belarus-EU Council of Business Cooperation is visiting Belarus 5-7 March 2008.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesman Andrei Papou said it on a briefing in Minsk.
According to him, the delegation consists of directors of the Royal Bank of Scotland, ABN AMRO, big British companies and legal agenises. Meetings with vice premiers of Belarus U. Syamashka and A. Kabyakou, directors of the National Bank, Belneftekhim concern, Belarusian Potash Company, Belarusian Chamber of Trade and Industry, representatives of business circles and insurance companies of Belarus are scheduled in the frames of the visit, АFN reports.
Papou noted that the delegation of the Council is to discuss with the Belarusian party the joint efforts on increasing import of Belarusian goods to the EU market, possibilities of cooperation in banking and insurance sector.
The Council was set up in May 2007 on the initiative of the Belarusian party and a number of big European companies.
The objective of this non-commercial, as it stressed, organisation is supporting of the Belarusian side in developing cooperation with the European Union. The council will contribute to formation of strong economic ties between Belarusian enterprises and EU countries, attracting foreign financing for realisation of serious investment projects.
