Head of opposition candidate’s team fired after “elections”

Ivan Bedka, head of election team of opposition candidate Ivan Sheha, was said his work contract with the Slonim Central District Hospital was terminated.

He wasn’t explained the reasons. Ivan Bedka has worked as a ward attendant in the Slonim Hospital since 1980ies.

“I received a notice on contract terminating a year before my retirement. I wasn’t said any reasons. The contract was to be expired on 31.10. In my view, the ground was my political activist, participation in the election campaign. I was a head of alternative candidate’s team, I drew up four formal notices on violations of election legislation at a polling stations, where I observed the elections. The elections were falsified there. I am going to go to law, as there is the law, in accordance with which, work contract can’t be terminated 3 years before the retirement,” the activist told to Radio Svaboda.
