Regime concerned by George Soros’ interest in Belarus

State-run mass-media write about animation of “circles” connected to the famous financier.

The informational and analytical centre of Lukashenka’s administration is concerned by the problem of necessity of Belarusian break-through in the relations with the US.

Its leading expert Yury Tsaryk has published an article in “Narodnaya Gazeta”, admitting that “ultimate normalization of relations with the European Union is hardly possible without aligning positions between Minsk and Washington”.

It turns out that at the moment Belarusian analysts form the presidential administration are trying to invent a way to attract attention of the US Department of State to Belarus. As observed by Yury Tsaryk, the new administration of Barack Obama faces “vacuum of ideas and perception about Belarus and Eastern Europe in general”.

“As a result, a huge risk exists that a policy towards this region would be shaped firstly, behind the scenes, and secondly, by such political subjects which are lest oriented towards constructive development of events in the region,” Tsarik writes.

He is concerned about the fact that “circles connected to George Soros”, whom eh called “one of the sponsors of the electoral campaign of Barack Obama and strong opponent of the idea of Russian-Belarusian union”, have showed interest in dealings with Minsk.

Perhaps Minsk is working at the “principally new platform for relations” which would be offered to the Department of State and the US President. “The US citizens see that we have things to discuss with them,” writes the staffer of the informational and analytical centre of Lukashenka’s administration.
