Relatives of Yury Lyavonau still haven’t been given a single meeting with him.

He doesn’t receive letters either. It has been said to Radio Svaboda by the daughter of the political prisoner, Yuliya Mikhnyuk.

- Your father Yury Lyavonau is in prison since February 8, like Vaukavysk entrepreneurs Mikalay Autukhovich and Uladzimir Asipenka. Since April 16 Miakaly Autukhovich continues hunger strike of protest.

Uladzimir Asipenka’s relatives were allow a meeting in more than 3 months after his arrest in the remand prison. Have you received a sanction for a meeting?

- I called the investigator on May 26 and wanted to ask whether a possibility of a meeting exists, whether there is any use in writing an application, motivating that by the fact that it would have bad influence on the investigation and on the person under investigation, my father. He told me that we should return to this subject in a week. I told that I would call him next Tuesday. At that our conversation finished.

- How do you receive information about your father’s case, about his state of health?

- I learn news about my father only through a lawyer, as we started to receive letters only recently. Father does not receive letters from us at all, none over the four months.

- Vaukavysk is not a big town. And dwellers should know Yury Lyavonau. What do people in the town say about the attest of Lyavonau, Autukhovich and Asipenka?

- In reality people who know my father, sympathize with us, soothe us, and say that the truth is to triumph in out country. And the people who do not know my father and read local newspapers say that he is presented as a kind of terrorist.

- The date of the court hasn’t been set. Do you believe in fair justice?

- No, I do not believe in it. I can tell you that at once, as there is absolutely no justice in our country.
