Arrests of youth activists in Brest

Activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus”, “Young Front” and “The BPF Youth” are detained for a peaceful action in support of Brest activist Zhanna Abramava, evicted form her flat on political grounds.
In the morning June7, the youth activists organized picket near the housing and utility body that evicts Zhanna Abramava. Militia officers detained a “Young Front” activist Andrei Sharenda before the action. He was set free after questioning. At 10.00 a.m., militia officers detained four more activists – Yurt Batura, Natallya Kastsyuchyk, Mikhail Illyin, and Brest human rights defender Raman Kislyak.
The detained activists are in the Maskouski district militia department of Brest.
