Out of 85 complaints about the denial to include 413 people in the district election commissions (DEC), the courts refused in 83 cases.
Two complaints remain unconsidered, the campaign “Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections” reports.
In most cases the complaints were not about violations of the procedures of formation of DEC, but about the discriminatory attitude towards members of opposition parties and public associations. The latter ones generally had experience in the electoral commissions of different levels, but they were not included in the DEC. At the same time, for example, many representatives of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, who does not have such experience, were included it the DEC.
