Lukashenka is usurper who doesn’t have right to run in election

14 years ago, Belarus had a referendum that deprived people of their right to elect and change the power.
Held with gross violations and falsifications, the referendum allowed Alyaksandr Lukashenka to significantly enlarge and prolong his power. Later, the Supreme Council was dissolved, a new parliament was formed out of president’s supporters, and the president concentrated the power in his hands. Viktar Hanchar was fired from a post of the head of the Central Election Commission. Three years later he was kidnapped and killed. To replace Hanchar Lukashenka appointed Lidziya Yarmoshyna, who still continues to rig results of all election campaign in Belarus.
The referendum in 1996 was conducted with violations of then efficient Constitution. All further actions of the authorities cannot be considered legitimate because Lukashenka and Yarmoshyna together with top officials from the President’s Administration illegally established the new order that wasn’t based on the will of the voters. This is a serious criminal offence. They unconstitutionally usurped the power in Belarus that goes beyond legitimacy. Neither the West nor the United States have recognized any election held after the referendum.
The illegitimate character of power and personally Lukashenka are obvious. Now we can see consequences of these. Even Russia has opened eyes to this problem. It’s no point in arguing how the presidential election should be carried out if the following three demands are not presented to the authorities: 1. bringing the electoral legislation inline with international standards; 2. Lukashenka’s not running in the election; 3. giving objective information regarding involvement of top executives to disappearance of CEC head Hanchar and opposition politicians.
Only under these conditions might it be possible to break the constitutional deadlock the country came as far as in 1996.
