CEC says facts of falsifications are European standards
Yaury Khadyka, presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov’s agent in the Central Election Commission (CEC), took part in the first CEC sitting.
Professor Yury Khadyka told the press service of European Belarus civil campaign that representatives of democratic candidates had failed to gain significant concessions on the questions considered during the sitting.
“The CEC consists of the silent majority who vote as Yarmoshyna tells them. In spite of protests of observers and candidates’ agents, Rymasheuski and Statkevich got warnings. A proposal of conducting observation at night was declined thought it was well grounded. Syarhei Kalyakin spoke about police lieutenant colonel Mikalai Kazlou, who recorded the facts of fraud during the early voting. I told them I knew the case when the number of early voters increased by more over 100% during one night. In response, Yarmoshyna gave floor to the CEC lawyer, who said night observation wasn’t necessary because everything complied with European standards. It’s evident that the governmental bodies don’t adhere to liberalization of electoral process,” Yury Khadyka stressed.
