Thus, the artist is to be released only after the presidential election.

The authorities have charged Ales Pushkin of malicious hooliganism, for alleged beating his fellow villager. The decision to punish Ales Pushkin by taking him into custody was issued by judge of Krupki district court Volha Fama, Radio Svaboda reports.

The wife of the arrested, Yana Pushkina, was trying to reach Krupki district court on the phone, but she was not able to obtain any information about concrete charges against her husband. She found out from journalists that he had been sentenced to 13 days in custody, and that he had been charged with malicious hooliganism.

“Malicious hooliganism?! Oho! And I have been calling to the court, they all were so busy. First I called and they said the session of the court was taking place. Then they said the trial was over, but they did not know the ruling of the court, and said to call later. And it turns out, it had been malicious hooliganism! It means that an order had been made, for him not to stage any performance,” Pushkin’s wife said.

She is sure that the arrest for 13 days is a result of a pre-planned provocation. She told that on December 8 their fellow village entered their yard. He was aggressive. Her husband had to push him out for him not to behave like a hooligan. The name of this man is Lazarevich, and all the village of Bobr, where the family of the artist lives, knows him.

“He is down-and-out, who had touched bottom. This person has been lost for the society; he lives on the things he had stolen. About 10 years ago he broke into our house, and then he was imprisoned,” Yana Pushkin said.

The wife of the oppositionist believes that that man was “used”, he had been sent on purpose to have reasons to detain the owner of the house. Policemen of the police department of Krupki came to the house of the artist saying that they had a statement about his hooliganism, and then they took him to the police department. Ales Pushkin refused to go of his own free will, and he was pushed into the police car by force.

The wife if the artist recalls that during the previous presidential election he was also kept in custody, as he had been sentenced to 15 days for petty hooliganism. Then a police statement was written by somebody saying the artist had used bad language. Notably, the informer had heard swearing from a distance of a kilometer and a half, from the opposite bank of the river.
