Radoslaw Sikorski, Foreign Minister of Poland, has adopted a decision to cancel payment for processing and issuing of national Polish visas for citizens of Belarus since January 1, 2011.
It has been informed by the press-service of the Polish Foreign Affairs Ministry.
As it is said in the statement, “it is an expression of solidarity and gratitude to the Belarusian people, who had sent a strong message of their wish for democratic changes. We want to help our neighbours in reinforcing of the European identity through contacts with Poles and other peoples of the European Union.”
“We also reserve the right to take steps for keeping civil servants and citizens of Belarus responsible for repressions against the civil society after December 19, 2010, out of the territory of Poland,” the press-service stressed.
