Some pro-governmental candidates in Homel attract their employees in working hours for agitating campaign. They also use official cars and fuel.
On April 19, democratic candidate to the Homel city council in Svirydauski constituency #2 Mikalai Kalyuka took a leave from work to carry out an agitating campaign. He and his agents noticed a car with an inscription “Transport control”. The driver cruised about the district pasting propaganda leaflets of Kalyuka’s rival Viktar Yeumyanenka, the director of bus park #6, on house doors, the campaign “Human Rights Activists for Free Elections” writes.
By the way, the city executive committee permits pasting leaflets only in special places – information screens. Kalyuka’s team asked the driver if he was doing this in labour hours and if he drove a company car. The driver answered he did that on an order of his chief, the deputy director of bus park #6, an agent of candidate Yeumyanenka.
“Candidate Kalyuka takes a leave to take part n his propaganda campaign, while his competitor involves his subordinates, company vehicles and fuel. We offered candidate Yeumyanenka to hold a joint meeting with the voters, but we haven’t received a respond to our proposal,” Kalyuka’s agent Andrei Aksyonau said.
