Bakiyev's plane landed in Belarus despite of volcanic ash cloud

The head of the Security service of the Belarusian leader Andrei Vtsyuryn confirmed that his officers had taken Bakiyev and his family to Minsk.

Commenting on this event to "Interfax", he stated that he sees nothing unusual in that.

"We have just executed the order of the president. Today Kyrgyz President Bakiyev and his family are in Minsk under protection of the Belarusian state," Vtsyuryn said.

The head of the agency expressed gratitude to the Belarusian pilots for successful landing of the plane in such difficult conditions. "As for the flight, special thanks should be said to our aviators for being able to land the plane amid bad weather, when the airport was in fact closed becuase of the volcano ash cloud coverig the territory of Belarus," said the head of the security service of the president of Belarus.

We remind that answering questions of "deputies" of the "national assembly" on April 20 Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that the overthrown president of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev and his family are in Belarus since Monday.
