Stanislau Shushkevich: “This is self-affirmation of Lukashenka’s illegal power”

The former chairman of the Supreme Council, leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) commented on a statement of Kurmanbek Bakiyev.

“I think is just a way of self-protection, an opportunity to feel that he is such a powerful person that he will behave in such the most disgusting way. But he is not expected anything else. The same methods will be chosen to respond to his actions.

I have an impression that what happened is always happen when the masses cannot suffer anymore and the lower class cannot restrain them. These are famous words by a famous politician.

I think it is absolutely inadmissible to receive such a person. He has his hands in blood. If Americans were not against, if they came and said they would help, if Russia helps, what other approaches are possible here?

Here another point of view is possible. I mean Lukashenka, who strives for self-affirmation. The self-affirmation of his illegal power,” Stanislau Shushkevich told in an interview to Radio Svaboda.

We remind that Kurmanbek Bakiyev told at a press conference in Minsk on April 21 that he hadn’t resigned from the presidential post. Alyaksandr Lukashenka, who gave shelter to Bakiyev, said on the same day the ousted dictator should run in the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan.
