Beltransgaz insists that Gazprom owes for transit

However the company has not answered the question about the readiness of the Belarusian side to repay the debt in money.

Beltransgaz insists that indebtedness of Gazprom for transit exists, stated a representative of Beltransgaz to Interfax agency.

“For today there is an indebtedness of Gazprom for transit, it is confirmed by real documents and it is not clear why the leadership of Gazprom does not know about this situation. Their services do not report about that, and Gazprom administration misleads Russian president,” said a representative of Gazprom.

“Our position is that cutting gas supplies to Belarus is illegal and ungrounded, there are no documents for it,” he said. Besides, the representative of the company confirmed that “today morning we have received a telegram from Gazprom on cutting gas supplies by 15% which is to be increased gradually”.

He underlined once again: “Objective information about indebtedness of Gazprom for transit exists, and the appropriate services in the Russian company. It’s surprising why the leadership of Gazprom do not know about that”.

However the interlocutor has not answered to the question about the readiness of the Russian side to repay the debt in money.

As it was informed, at the moment a Belarusian delegation headed by Deputy Economy Minister Anatoly Filonau is in Moscow. They hope to find agreement with Gazprom on the conditions of extra charges by Beltransgaz when selling the imported gas in domestic market.
