The Council of Ministers of Belarus sent a letter to Russian Gazprom.
Belarus will have to use Russian transit gas for domestic needs if the gas supplies are not resumed, reads the letter of the Belarusian Council of Ministers to Gazprom leadership signed by deputy prime minister Uladzimir Syamashka.
“Belarus asks to restrain from further gas supplies reducing unless the conflict is settled. In other case, Gazprom will make Belarus to take gas from the gas transit system to meet the needs of the Belarusian national economy and population,” reads the letter published on the website of BelTA, a state-run news agency.
Gazprom extended gas supplies cuts to Belarus to 30% on Tuesday from 15% on Monday. The cuts are planned to reach 85%, the level equivalent to the debt.
