At BPF party Sojm Ivashkevich spoke about rally on August 16

It is very important for people to take to the streets, believes the leader of Minsk city branch of the Belarusian Popular Front party.
Making a speech at the session of the Sojm of the Belarusian Popular Front party, Viktar Ivashkevich informed that together with activists of European Belarus Yauhen Afnagel and Pavel Yukhnevich he submitted an application for holding a march and a meeting under a slogan “We demand international investigation of the cases of the disappeared” to Minsk city executive committee.
This rally, as explained by Ivashkevich, is to be dedicated to the demands to find out all the details of disappearances of Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski and Zmitser Zavadski.
“It is very important to demonstrate to the authorities that people have taken to the streets. We will demand international investigation of the cases of the abducted under the aegis of the United Nations,” Ivashkevich said.
As it was informed earlier, an application for holding a rally on August 16 with demands to investigate politically motivates crimes in Belarus which took place 10 years ago was submitted to Minsk city executive committee on July 16. The rally was supported by European Belarus civil campaign, the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada, the Belarusian Popular Front Party, the United Civil Party, the Just World party and other organizations and movements.
The applicants plan to hold a march from the Academy of Sciences building to the Freedom Square, where a meeting is to take place. The rally is to take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
