Belarusian ONT about Putin’s trip: Fools on roads (Video)

  • 2.09.2010, 9:41

ONT TV channel insulted the Russian prime minister in a report about his trip Chita–Khabarovsk.

We offer you a video and shorthand notes of the report “Scandal on Russian Internet” showed on ONT September 1:

“Amateur camera operators from Chita posted a video of Russian prime minister driving a Russian car on Russian roads.

PM Putin was posing for TV cameras for four days as a participant of Chita–Khabarovsk trip. Vladimir Putin drove Lada-Kalina car testing new Amur highway. Advertising of the Russian car industry, road constructors and the prime minister himself was rather successful. The only thing is that authors of Amur operation forgot they live not in the times of Potemkin villages, but in the epoch of digital technologies and Internet.

Off-road vehicles fans from the club “Diversant” (Saboteur) in Transbaikal region backed up the name of their club with actions. Amatours of jeeps turned to be fans of honest video. The footage of the trip they posted on the Internet was a real act of sabotage. Putin was accompanied almost by a hundred of cars, all of them foreign-made. There were only three eye-catching yellow Kalinas: two of them were moving under own power, but the third one was carried on a platform lorry.

According to club members, they were given instructions several times, their documents and cars were checked. They were instructed how they had to stand, how hold their hands, how to behave, not to go forward, not to give hands, not to wave. They were also explained what they should say and searched for posters. Car enthusiasts suppose the same things may have happened along the whole 2165km route of Putin’s trip. They also think expenses for the operation may exceed the annual budget of a small Russian town.

Four days of work of Kremlin spin doctors and journalist and the budget enough for a TV movie went to waste. Now Russia has a new problem in addition to its two famous ones (fools and roads), fools on roads. Things don’t come well with cars – the Internet is full with critics about products of the Russian car industry. How silly it came out. Or they hoped nobody will know about it? Putin’s plan is Russia’s future.”
