The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) does not plan to resume selling foreign currency to commercial banks for their exchange offices halted on March 22.
Interfax-Zapad news agency learned this from NBB spokesman Anatoly Drazdou.
“We have not announced changes in a policy of selling foreign cash for exchange offices. So, we do not sell foreign currencies with this purpose,” Drazdou said.
Meanwhile, Interfax-Zapad correspondents monitored exchange offices and reported that sales of foreign cash were not resumed. Like in the last two months, queues with waiting lists sometimes over 200 people still stand to exchange offices.
