Only one country has had devaluation similar to Belarusian one over the last 20 years.
“Devaluation similar to our one has happened only in one country over the last 20 years. Ours is the second case in the world economy,” Andrei Tur, Belarusian deputy minister of economy, said on Friday in Minsk at a special meeting of the National Council on Labour and Social Issues, Belarusian news agencies report.
Tur also admitted that Belarus’s economy had seen “two grievous shocks” since the end of the first quarter. The deputy minister said these were a sharp increase in imported energy prices and 56% devaluation of the national currency.
