Minsk city court had upheld verdicts issued by the court of Lenin district to the candidates for presidency Mikalai Statkevich and Dzmity Uss.
The verdicts to 5 other participants of December 19, 2010 events have been upheld as well: Alyaksandr Klaskouski, Artsyom Hrybkou, Alyaksandr Kvyatkevich, Dzmitry Bulanau and Andrei Paznyak. Such a decision was adopted on December 19 by the judicial panel headed by Syarhei Khrypach, BelaPAN informs.
Prosecutor Anton Zaharouski stated that he finds cassational appeals of the convicted unproven. As said by him, the defence is groundless, as they are disposed by the facts in the verdict. Prosecutor is sure that participants of mass riots tried to break the police cordon and enter the House of Government. Besides, Zaharouski believes that sticks, iron rods, bottles and other objects found on the square confirm premeditated conspiracy of the participants of mass riots to commit illegal actions.
None of the convicts attended the today’s session of the judicial panel.
We remind that on July 15 the judicial panel of Minsk city court upheld the verdict to the presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov. In the next few days Sannikov is to be transported from Minsk to Navapolatsk colony.
