A decision will be taken by the Mozyr court at a trial in prison on October 30.
The website charter97.org received this information from Anastasia Palazhanka, the fiancée of Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich. “A lawyer visited Zmitser today. He learnt that the court of Mozyr would held trial in penal colony No. 20 on Tuesday to hear a question on moving Dashkevich to a supermax prison. It is because Zmitser was classified as persistent violator.”
Anastasia Palazhanka says stricter conditions will not break the political prisoner. “Of course, it means more severe confinement conditions. But I don't think it will affect him. Zmitser is always in hard conditions – in punishment cells and cell-type units. It won't be great changes for him. He is likely to be transferred to a prison in Hrodna or in Zhodzina. The Zhodzina prison is known for bad confinement conditions. I cannot say anything about the Hrodna prison. I only know that Mikalai Autukhovich is there.”
“Zmitser writes letters constantly. He is in a good mood. He wrote he received new books in the prison library – Anton Chekhov. He writes Chekhov is very popular in prison. Most of his works can be found in the library. He re-read Ward No. 6 and says time runs, but the situation is the same.”
It should be reminded that Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich was sentenced to 2 years in prison in 2011 for hooliganism. He an Young Front activist Eduard Lobau were charged with beating people a day before the presidential elections. Dashkevich doesn't admit his guilt and says the incident was a provocation orchestrated by the secret services.
Zmitser Dashkevich received a status of “persistent violator of prison rules” and was sent from Horki to a penal colony in Hlybokae after serving 12 months of his term. He was tried again an sentenced to a year in prison.
