Mother allowed to visit political prisoner Lobau

Eduard Lobau said this in a telephone conversation with his mother.

“My son phoned yesterday. He said he received permission for a three-day visit on November 16. He didn't say much about himself. He only said he was okay,” Maryna Lobava, the mother of political prisoner Eduard Lobau, told charter97.org.

Maryna Lobava says she has the right to bring 15 kilogrammes of food for Eduard:

“I was allowed to pass a 15-kilogramme parcel to him. Some inmates can receive 30 kg, but it is at the discretion of the penal colony chief. Last time I passed parcels of 8 and 10 kilogrammes. This time it is 15 kilogrammes.”

“The conversation was short. He only said what he wanted me to bring. I am waiting for the visit. I will be able to see my son, whom I last saw more than six months ago. Eduard didn't seem to be sad or tired. I think he is happy the visit was allowed.”

It should be reminded that Young Front activist Eduard Lobau was sentenced to 4 years in prison for hooliganism. He now serves his term in a penal colony in Ivatesevichy. He and Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich were accused of beating people in Minsk a day before the presidential elections. The “injured” men gave evidence in court hiding their faces from public. Lobau and Dashkeivch said the brawl had been provoked by the secret services.
