The authorities consider a possibility of imposing restrictions on leaving the country for the persons who called to slap sanctions on Belarus.
TUT.by has learned it from a source close to top officials.
The preliminary list has 108 names, including former chair of the Supreme Council of Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich, head of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions Alyaksandr Yarashuk and head of the Belarusian Association of Journalists Zhanna Litvina.
We remind that the Council of the EU Foreign Ministers took a decision on Monday to extend the list of Belarusian officials subject to the EU sanctions. 21 names, among them Minsk police chief Alyaksandr Barsukou and judges of Minsk's district courts, were added to the list.
The Belarusian MFA demonstrated a harsh response: Belarusian ambassadors were recalled from Warsaw and Brussels and Poland and the EU were recommended to recall their envoys from Minsk. After an urgent consultation in Brussels on February 28, it was decided to recall all ambassadors of the EU member states from Minsk.
