Shakutsin fears sanctions like plague

The chairman of the board of Amkodor JSC Alyaksandr Shakutsin resents over the fact that the EU sanctions could be imposed on him, as on the businessman who supports Lukashenka’s regime financially.
“It’s a dictatorial decision,” Alyaksandr Shakutsin (Alexandr Shakutin) said to “Belgazeta”. “Even in the Soviet Union I carried out struggle against such restrictive measures. And now the EU acts in the same way as the Politbureau then. Europe has enough its own problems, but they want our situation to be bad as well… I often visit Lithuania. Lithuanians look at Belarus as at a rescue. As independently they would not have such sales volume in trade networks, restaurants, cafes, resorts and so on.”
The comment of Amkodor’s chairman of the board is obviously present a contrast to the public reaction of the head of Triple companies group. As “Salidarnasts” reminds, Yury Chyzh told about the possible EU sanctions against him: “This topic is not worth a pin for me. It is not a problem for me.”
As for the words of Shakutsin, his great certainty of the decisive role of Belarusians in the life of Lithuanians is impressive. Our countrymen certainly make a contribution to the economy of the neighbouring country regularly, and especially in the well-known shopping mall Akropolis. However, one should not forget that the standards of living in Lithuania are much higher that in Belarus (average salaries are 630 Euro and 270 Euro correspondingly). So we should not claim the role of rescuers, but improve our own laughable well-being just a little more…
