Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Audronius Ažubalis takes a positive view of the decision of Belarus to release political prisoners Andrei Sannikov and Zmitser Bandarenka.
However, there is not a single decision on return of EU ambassadors to Belarus, the diplomat noted
The head of the Foreign Ministry has stated that next week he is to meet foreign ministers of the EU in Luxembourg.
“I can just repeat: in the same way as we have left together, so we should return, there could be no selection about that, the EU should be united,” he said to ru.DELFI.lt
Lithuania is to propose the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs to speak about release of all political prisoners and their rehabilitation.
As it was informed, ambassadors of 27 countries of the EU were recalled from Belarus in late February. Before that Polish and EU diplomats were recalled from Belarus, and Belarusian authorities recommended them to leave Minsk.
The diplomats were recalled when new sanctions against Belarus came into force.
