Members the University of London ice hockey team (London Dragons) stand against holding the IIHF Wold Championship in Minsk in 2014.
Team player Adrien Beauduin wrote this in a letter to charter97.org website:
“I used to live in Belarus and I support the struggle of people of Belarus for freedom.
When I asked my team fellows if they were ready to support this idea, I expected to see hesitation. But all of them said they do not want their national teams to play in a country where political prisoners are behind bars.
We won the British universities championship and all the lads (and one girl) were happy to make a photo with posters for human rights in Belarus. We have players from Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, the UK and Slovakia.
