Cruelly beaten Mouchan can be arrested at hospital

Police refused to return the European Belarus activist his passport and are going to come to hospital for him.

Andrei Mouchan who is at emergency hospital in Minsk, had a telephone call from a deputy chief of police station No.1 of the Pershamaiski district. He asked about the whereabouts of the activist. When Andrei Mouchan said he was at hospital and did not know where he would be discharged, the policeman answered police officer would come for him.

Mouchan sister applied to the police station, where Andrei had been taken after the detention, asking to return his passport. She was told they did not have his passport and advised to go to the Pershamaiski district police department. She was told there the documents were in “Mouchan's case”.

On May 19, Mouchan raised a national white-red-white flag near Pershamaiski shop in Uruchcha city district to show his solidarity with Syarhei Kavalenka. He was detained and brutally beaten by police. According to preliminary medical examination, Andrei was diagnosed with a closed head injury, lower jaw and rib fractures, injuries from blows to kidneys and legs.

The attending doctor told him today he had had all his fractures before. The activist tried to argue, but the doctor answered, “Well, you understand everything yourself.”
