The Minsk premiere of the film at Free Theatre premises ended with mass detentions.

The film Europe’s Last Dictator shot by film-maker Matthew Charles and cameraman Juan Luis Passarelli won best documentary at the London Independent Film Festival 2012.

Europe's Last Dictator was shot last year. The film tells about tortures, killings and kidnappings happened in Belarus under Alyaksandr Lukashenka's rule.
