People do not believe the majority of Belarusians will vote in the “election”.
Narodnaya Volya newspaper decided to find out what attitude ordinary Belarusians have towards the “election”. Answers speak for themselves.
“I personally cannot agree with the 'forecast' of the authorities regarding the number of people who plan to vote in the autumn 'parliamentary elections'. My friends, let alone relatives, have the same opinion. One must be an idiot to believe that Yarmoshyna with her company and the whole corrupted system are honest. Let's stop getting caught with the same electoral bait. Let them play their games. Boycott. Only boycott! This is the only thing Belarusians can do. If we cannot behave like Arabs, let's give them a finger behind their back,” Yadviha Kiyko, a music teacher from Baranavichy, says.
“I have never trusted elections under this authorities. Make you conclusion... To be short, it's difficult for me to believe our people will rush polling stations. Why? Only those with a lack of self-respect can allow to walk them over again. We are fed up with previous 'parliaments'. They were as a blind with MPs used like furniture. Everybody has his own head, brain and conscience,” Mikhail Turavets, a pensioner from Minsk, thinks.
“I don't know about other people, but I think so many will people scarcely waste their time on doubtful 'elections'. We have these 'electoral lessons' many times... What was the result? You think only how to survive and feed your family on your miserable pension. Politicians and officials live their own life, while the rest have to survive. I'd better go to my dacha or do some housework. It is both useful and pleasant. As for the 'elections'... This is for those who are happy with everything. Is there any use in conniving with those who fool you unless a civil society is formed?” pensioner Yelizaveta Stankevich from Minsk says.
