Chairman of the “house of representatives” Andreichanka starts speaking about cooperation with European parliamentary institutions.
“Our position remains unchanged: we are ready for cooperation, but without dictation and imposing someone else's vision of democracy, on the basis of mutual respect of common interests,” Uladzimir Andreichanka noted in an interview for Belaruskaya Dumka magazine.
The chairman of the “house of representatives” said it in relation to the “formation of the parliamentary structure of the Eastern Partnership programme”. “Its participation in the work of the National Assembly can only be full-fledged based on equal rights,” he said.
Andreichanka admitted contacts with western countries were suspended after the presidential elections and crackdown on opposition rallies.
It should be reminded that Uladzimir Andreichanka is banned from entering the EU. Sanctions were imposed on a number of Belarusian officials in 2011 due to rigged results of the elections and persecution of opposition activists.
