On March 28, Vasily Palyakou, a deputy head of the United Civil Party, received a notice to appear in Homel's Navabelitski district police department “for carrying out administrative procedures”.
The activist is summoned by Henadz Khilevich, the head of the public order department.
Human rights activist Leanid Sudalenka says that activist Uladzimir Shytikau received a similar summons, Viasna human rights centre reports.
“The authorities probably decided that the most active participants of the Freedom Day action in Homel, which was held on March 25, should be brought to administrative responsibility,” the human rights activist thinks.
On March 25, activists of the Homel coalition of democratic organisations visited the grave of Tsimokh Vostrykau, a significant figure of the national revival, in village of Ramanavichy, installed a commemorative plaque in Belarusian and laid flowers at the place where the house of BNR figure Paluta Badunova had stood (the Navabelitski city distirct in Homel).
