A photographer of Nasha Niva newspaper was not allowed to attend the ceremony of laying flowers to policemen killed while on duty.
Belarusian interior minister Ihar Shunevich participated in the ceremony that took place in Minsk on March 4.
As charter97.org learnt from Nasha Niva's photographer Syarhei Hudzilin, people in mufti didn't allow him to visit the ceremony.
“All territory nearby was guarded by police. They asked all press representatives where the worked and let them go. They asked me, I answered, but a man in mufti stopped me. He contacted his boss, who ordered not to let me go and said I should wait,” Hudzilin said.
It turned out that independent media journalists were forbidden to cover the event.
“I waited for five minutes. The man, who stopped me, received an order “Don't permit him to go. They cannot film. Let them receive accreditation at the press service of the Interior Ministry,” the photographer said.
