The leader of the Conservative Christian Party BPF spoke on the “curious statement by the fake democrats”.
The chairman of the Conservative Christian Party BPF Zianon Pazniak gave an assessment to Niaklaeu, Janukievich and Milinkievich’s initiative of having a “Popular Referendum”.
In his letter Pazniak wrote:
“Several days ago another curious statement came from fake democrats (Milinkievich, Janukievich and Niaklaeu, who joined them) on holding a “Popular Referendum” on the issue, the essence of which they do not yet know, but hope to discover (a referendum is organized by the regime, according to the legislation). No serious person is going to discuss this suggestion, even more so that it has been long all clear about the initiators”.
“But there is one “but”, - the politician adds. – Before that the same people and same groupings announced that from 25 March to 3 June they were going to hold a national public work session in Kurapaty in order to put it in their own kind of order. In the 12 years of our work on the creation of a Popular Memorial Kurapaty we never saw these people there. It is not only that none of them worked there, but none of them even expressed support to the good cause… Now these people are suddenly going to arrange some event in Kurapaty. All this causes suspicions as to the real intentions of the abovementioned people, even more so that there is no trust to them”.
We would remind that the Movement for Freedom, BPF party and Tell the Truth civic campaign announced the start of a “Popular Referendum” campaign. At a press-conference on 20 May the three oppositional organizations announced long-term strategic partnership. The cooperation is meant for at least three nearest electoral campaigns – municipal, presidential and parliamentary elections.
