The MFA of Belarus says the arrest of Uralkali CEO Vladislau Baumgertner was legal and asks not to look for political reasons.
“A clear understanding is needed that the current situation fully complies with the law. It is the result of a legal evaluation of actions by a particular person. There are sufficient grounds and substantiated legal qualification for that. The matter is significant economic damage to the interests of the Republic of Belarus,” MFA spokesman Andrei Savinykh (in the photo) said.
He expressed the hope that the situation “ will be viewed by our partners with due responsibility and in accordance with the spirit of the law without emotions and looking for political reasons”.
According to previous reports, Moscow demands to release Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner and explanations from Belarus regarding the situation.
