Member of the European Parliament Marek Migalski holds an action in the Polish town of Katowice to support the Belarusian political prisoner.
“Mikalai Statkevich, a candidate for presidency in Belarus in 2010, serves his 6-year term in prison for participating in a peaceful opposition rally on Independence Square in Minsk. He has spent more than 3 years, or more than 1000 days, in prison.
Our office would like to again express our solidarity with the prisoner of conscience and call for the immediate release of Mikalai Statkevich. In this regard, we organise an action of solidarity in Katowice on Thursday, January 23, as part of the campaign One More 2 be Free.
You can visit our tent on the corner of Stawowa and Mickiewicz Streets from 10:00 to 13:00 and sign a special postcard for Aliaksandr Lukashenka,” a press release of Marek Migalski's office says.
The postcard calling to free the political prisoner will be sent to the Belarusian ruler together with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
