The head of the Interior Affairs Ministry demands to block the website charter97.org on the territory of Belarus completely.
Under the pretext of war on drug trafficking, the Interior Affairs Ministry offers to ban access of all internet users to the websites put on the list of limited access.
It is also offered to ban opening anonymous digital wallets in electronic payment systems.
It was discussed during the meeting on illegal distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and analogues, electroname.com informs with a reference to the press-service of the Belarusian ruler.
During the session improvement of the legal framework which would allow combating the drugs threat more efficiently and rapidly, was discussed. Among the measures to combat drugs trafficking the Interior Affairs Ministry proposed to amend the laws related to activities on the Internet.
In particular, according to the Interior Affairs Minister Ihar Shunevich, it is necessary to ban access to the websites on the list of limited access, for all Internet users. Besides, the Interior Affairs Ministry finds it necessary to address the issue of banning setting up digital wallets in electronic payment systems, which are used on the territory of Belarus, without registration of full fundamental data of an owner in bank institutions.
We remind that in spring 2011 the website of Charter’97 was put on the black list of websites to which access is limited. At present access to our website is blocked from state agencies, educational and cultural institutions. Ban for all Internet users to access the websites on the list for limited access is to cut off charter97.org website from the Belarusian audience, and it would be possible to access the website through a proxy only.
It is supposed that amendments to the laws are to be introduced by a special decree since January 1, 2015.
