Tax inspectors about incident at Hrodna market: Our actions were legal

As it turned out, tax officers were carrying out an unscheduled audit at the Southern market on February 3.

Aliaksandr Yankevich, the chief of the tax inspection of Hrodna's Leninski district, says the audit was initiated after a police check. It was ordered by the Leninski district tax office, Vecherni Grodno newspaper writes.

A market trader is reported to have been taken to a police station. The goods that didn't have accompanying documents will be seized. According to preliminary information, it is about 20 jackets of a total worth of 20 million rubles. More details will be available after the audit is completed.

“All actions by tax inspectors and police officers were legal,” Aliaksandr yankevich thinks. “The seller has the right to appeal to the regional tax office against the decision of the district tax office.”
