The former political prisoner, who has been under police supervision after the release from prison, was punished for violating the supervision rules.
According to Eduard Lobau, he was late at home by 30 minutes, Radio Racyja reports.
“I have my first violation. I was late at home. I must be at home at 10 p.m., but I came at 10:30. They came to check on me and made a report that I was late. I came to the police station, they brought a charge against me and took to a court. I was fined 1,080,000 rubles. It is my first violation, so the punishment was rather soft. The second violation implies a term in custody,” the former political prisoner says.
In 2011, Eduard Lobau was sentenced to 4 years in prison for “hooliganism”. Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich was tried together with him. He got 2 years of imprisonment. Human rights defenders think it was a provocation organised by secret services and the criminal case was fabricated.
