Images of political prisoners in Biaroza

Leaflets with information about political prisoners and their portraits have appeared in many crowded places of the city.
Radio Racyja reports. Activists wanted to inform citizens about imprisoned opponents of the regime: Mikalai Statkevich, Mikalai Dziadok, Ihar Alinevich, Jauhen Vaskovich, Artsem Prakapenka, Yury Rubtsou.
It should be reminded that Belarus continues to practice repressions against opposition politicians and civil activists.
On May 4 it was decided to transfer Mikalai Statkevich from Shklou colony No. 17 to prison until the end of the sentence (1 year, 7 months, 15 days). And on May 6 the politician was transferred to the prison No.4 in Mahileu.
A new criminal case was initiated against Homel activist Yury Rubtsou under Article 415 CC (avoidance of serving punishment). He is now held in pretrial detention facility in Baranavichy, Brest region.
On May 27, 2011 an activist of the anarchist movement Mikalai Dziadok was sentenced by Zavadski District Court of Minsk under Art. 339 para. 2 CC (malicious hooliganism) to 4.5 years of imprisonment in the colony with a reinforced regime. He pleaded not guilty and refused to write a petition for pardon.
In November 2014 a new case against Mikalai Dziadok under Article 411 (regime violation) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus was initiated. On February 26 Leninsky District Court of Mahileu sentenced him to an additional year of imprisonment in maximum security penal colony under Article 411 CC.
On May 27, 2011 Zhanna Khvainitskaia, the judge of Zavadski District Court in Minsk, sentenced Ihar Alinevich to 8 years of imprisonment in the colony with a reinforced regime. He, as well as Mikalai Dziadok, and Aliaksandr Frantskevich were accused of organization of a procession in front of the Defence Ministry, the attack on the casino Shangri La and the detention centre in Akrestsina Street and setting fire to the door of the branch of "Belarusbank".
Jauhen Vaskovich and Artsem Prakapenka were sentenced to seven years in prison for the attempt to arson doors of Babruisk Committee for State Security Department.
