Lithuanians Are Twice As Rich As Belarusians

Statistics of average wages in the former socialist countries demonstrates the failure of Lukashenka’s economy.
According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, the average salary before tax amounted to 750.3 Belarusian rubles in the country in August. Is it much or is it not if compared to other European countries?

After paying taxes to the state, the average Belarusian will have 297 euros in his hands. Much less money will remain in the hands of an average worker in Ukraine and Moldova. The level of gray economy is high in these countries, so some part of the income is hidden from the state.
Low oil prices have reduced the level of welfare of citizens of Azerbaijan. Now the salaries in this country are even lower than in the neighboring Armenia and Georgia, where there are almost no natural resources.
Salaries in most Balkan countries stay at the same level year after year – 360-380 euros. The neighboring Romania has recently forged ahead. Curiously, the Romanians earn more than the Russians.
