Freedom House Designates Belarus as Dictatorship

The country has repeatedly found itself among non-free countries in the "Freedom in the World-2017" list of the leading Freedom House human rights organization.

According to results of last year, Belarus has 7 points (the worst possible) on compliance with political rights and 6 points - on civil rights.

The list consists of 49 "non-free countries" including Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan. The worst situation with political and human rights is observed in Syria, North Korea and Eritrea.

The best situation is noted in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Canada and the Netherlands.
