Uladzimir Nyaklyayew Arrested

Poet and former presidential candidate Uladzimir Nyaklyayew is detained near his house in the morning, May 6, Minsk.
His wife Volha informed Radio Svaboda. According to her, Nyaklyayew is detained under an administrative offence (participation in the March of Angry Belarusians on February 17, Minsk) and is subject to 5-day arrest.
“It was unexpected. We were going to change wheels in our car. The detention was carried out by the riot police with no mess, Volha told. – They said he was taken to the Akrestsina. Now I make a parcel for him.”
The March of Angry Belarusians is the first in the row of protests against the decree on “spongers”.
