The official notes that the independent website holds its own.
Information Minister Aliaksandr Karliukevich was one of those who opened the annual Minsk book exhibition.
Nasha Niva asked the official what Charter-97 could do to be available in Belarus again. In January, the Ministry of Information restricted access to the independent portal on the territory of Belarus.
"I am not a Charter-97 reader now, although in accordance with the law, I have an opportunity to read it as a representative of the Ministry of Information. Obviously, we will look at the further content of this Internet resource. It is very dangerous to plan something or prompt. "Write like that, or write in a different way..." Apparently, Charter will hold to its own, and our actions will represent the state position," – Karliukevich said.
Today Charter97.org editor-in-chief Natallia Radzina has called on the deputies of the European Parliament to impose sanctions against Information Minister Aliaksandr Karliukevich, Deputy Information Minister Ihar Lutski (currently the general director of the television channel Metropolitan Television) and Andrei Pauliuchenka, the head of the Operational Analytical Center under Lukashenka's administration, responsible for the decision to block Charter97.org.
Also, the Charter's editor-in-chief calls for sanctions against the Lukashenka High-Tech Park until the pressure on independent media in Belarus is stopped.
