The usurper and his regime are guilty of crimes against humanity.
The Belarusians have filed an appeal with the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
The appeal had been signed by 37 362 people from 102 countries, the organizers of the campaign reported to Charter97.org.
It was created as a response to seizing power in Belarus by rigging elections on August 9, 2020, brutal suppression of peaceful protests, including with the use of weapons, and mass repressions against Belarusians.
"We, the Belarusians, declare that Lukashenka and his regime are guilty of crimes against humanity because he has personally authorized the atrocities that took place on the streets of Belarus, in prisons and detention centers after the day of elections. We want to emphasize the importance of initiating a judicial case against Lukashenka.
We call on the International Criminal Court and Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda to initiate a criminal case against the former President of Belarus for crimes against humanity," - the appeal says.
The appeal was initiated on September 1, 2020 by the Belarusian Canadian Alliance and the Initiative of Belarusians of Toronto "Vasilki".
