Polish Special Services: Conflict On Belarusian-Polish Border Moves On To New Phase

The regime in Minsk is looking for new routes and directions for the delivery of migrants.
The conflict on the Polish-Belarusian border is starting to be a definite long-term one; it can also mean a cynical game of exhausting our soldiers and functionaries, says Stanisław Żaryn, the official representative of the Minister-Coordinator of the Polish Intelligence Services.
According to Żaryn, "the structures of NATO and the EU are beginning to better understand what is happening on our border with Belarus," reports tvp.info.
- We also see that more and more countries, for example, the Middle East, are also affected by the actions of the Belarusian regime. We hope that, perhaps, it will be possible to restrict the inflow of migrants to Belarus, - said the Spokesman for the minister-coordinator of the Polish special services.
However, according to him, "this does not change the fact that Lukashenka’s regime is still interested in finding new migration routes and new directions, providing new waves of migration".
- We are entering a phase of conflict, when each day begins to resemble another. We continue to face repeated attacks by groups of foreigners supported by the Belarusian special services. We see that this conflict is beginning to be a conflict, calculated for a definitely long time, - assessed Żaryn.
Migration from Afghanistan
"The migration of people from Afghanistan who fled from the Taliban government has not yet begun," the politician said.
- We expect that this spring may become a big challenge for the European states. We do not have any signals indicating that this crisis and the cynical game with the people will be stopped, - he added.
Żaryn noted that the Belarusian regime is creating a kind of base for the accommodation of migrants around the logistics center in Bruzgi near Kuznica, in order to use it to carry out actions that destabilize our border. He noted that "all objects are being built around this base, including catering."
"The infrastructure has been prepared to keep these people there for a long time," he stressed.
"Testing" the Polish response to the crisis
Therefore, according to him, this is a challenge for the Polish border services.
"We expect attempts to weaken our vigilance. We are going through a difficult period, especially our soldiers and officers, who have the right to be tired and exhausted due to this conflict," Żaryn said.
"Testing" the Polish response to the crisis, he noted, could also mean "a cynical game of exhausting our officers and soldiers."
- Recently, there has been an increase in the aggressiveness of foreigners who are taking action to attack our border. They have the machines and equipment provided to them by the Belarusian services (...) they attack our people, use tear gas, stones, throw branches, and take actions that directly threaten our soldiers and officers," Żaryn said.
Another topic, "which worries, is the intensification of the aggression of the Belarusian and Russian state propaganda."
"It begins not only to blame Poland for the border crisis, but also shows Poland as a whole as a country that destabilizes the situation in Europe and NATO, and is historically responsible for a number of conflicts," the politician said.
According to him, this may lead to "making a narrative that Poland may be to blame for the further escalation of the conflict."
Propaganda activities in Russia and Belarus
"These propaganda actions, both for Russia and Belarus, are extremely important, sometimes they become the basis for making political decisions, so we observe with some concern the behavior of Russian and Belarusian propagandists who are increasingly attacking our country," said Spokesman for the minister-coordinator of the special services.
By the middle of next year, a steel fence reinforced with barbed wire and equipped with electronic devices will be erected on the border with Belarus. A fence 180 km long and 5.5 m high will be built in Podlasie. Motion sensors, day and night cameras will be installed along the border.
