The transit is stopped as a result of sanctions.

Latvia has not allowed 383 tons of oil products from Belarus into the country, skaties.lv reported.

Latvia has completely closed the transit of refined products under contracts concluded before June 21 this year.

Here's how Raimonds Zukuls, head of the customs department of the State Revenue Service of Latvia, commented on the situation:

"We have established a violation of the imposed sanctions. We were not informed that the transportation agreement had been concluded before June 21 [the day the EU Council approved the fourth package of sanctions against the Lukashenka regime]".
