There will be 1,000 places in the tent camp.
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania Agne Bilotaite, writes Delfi.
To ensure the safety of local residents, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania promises to involve all departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the police, border guards and the Public Security Service, and also plans to use military volunteers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also applied to local governments with a request to provide information on the possibility of accepting migrants. To accommodate migrants, the Lithuanian authorities plan to build modular houses, and hangars will begin to be built in the Druskininkai region.
Over the past day, 134 migrants were detained at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, and since the beginning of the year their number has exceeded 1,200. On July 2, Lithuania declared a state of emergency.
